Job Overview

Some Guy With a Wrench Inc. is seeking a Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Apprentice to join our team.

We service and repair a wide range of trucks and equipment, including Bobcats, loaders, logging and forestry equipment, customer work trucks, and other heavy-duty machinery. Our work includes mobile repairs, maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

Duties

- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and heavy equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and HVAC issues
- Complete mobile and field repairs
- Read service manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams as needed
- Perform welding and other mechanical repairs as required
- Identify the cause of equipment failures and complete repairs efficiently
- Maintain accurate service and repair records

Experience

- Heavy-duty mechanical experience or current apprenticeship experience




- Hands-on experience repairing trucks and equipment
- Experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and HVAC issues
- Experience with welding is an asset

Qualifications

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and electrical diagrams
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Valuable communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s licence
- Red Seal certification is an asset, but not required
