Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and safety-conscious Hooklift Truck Driver to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to become part of a growing operation and take on an important role in our day-to-day transportation and delivery services.

The successful candidate will operate our hooklift truck to pick up and deliver bins and materials to various locations. We are looking for someone to begin driving the truck this year. At this stage, the number of available hours will be lower and may vary from week to week. As our business continues to grow, hours are expected to increase significantly next year.

Please note that fixed or guaranteed hours cannot be provided at this time. This position would be well suited to someone who is looking for flexible work and is interested in growing with a small, expanding business.

In addition to driving responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the truck and equipment clean, including regularly washing the truck and ensuring it is maintained in a clean and presentable condition.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a hooklift truck to pick up and deliver bins and loads to designated locations
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and equipment are safe and compliant with regulations
- Safely load, unload, and position bins using the hooklift mechanism
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting, damage, or safety hazards during transportation
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and other required information
- Follow all traffic laws, transportation regulations, safety procedures, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers/site personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Work independently and manage assigned routes and deliveries efficiently
- Assist with basic handling and moving of materials when required
- Keep the truck, hooklift equipment, and related equipment clean and in good working condition
- Regularly wash the truck and maintain a clean,



professional appearance
- Report any mechanical issues, damage, safety concerns, or equipment problems promptly
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and members of the public

Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's licence appropriate for operating the hooklift truck
- Proven experience operating hooklift trucks or similar heavy-duty equipment is an asset
- Clean driving record and strong, safe driving skills
- Ability to safely perform physical tasks, including lifting and manual handling when required
- Robust attention to detail when completing vehicle inspections and documentation
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Willingness to perform truck washing, cleaning, and general equipment upkeep
- Physical stamina to spend extended periods driving and performing manual tasks
- A solid commitment to workplace and road safety

Hours & Growth Opportunity This position is being created as our business continues to grow.

This year: Hours will initially be limited and may vary depending on business demand. We cannot guarantee a set number of hours or a fixed schedule.

Next year: As the business expands, we anticipate a significant increase in driving and delivery work, creating the potential for substantially more hours.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
