At Canadian Metal Buildings (CMB), we are Building Better Buildings and Building Better Lives, and technology is central to that mission. We are looking for a dynamic HR Generalist to drive and champion our culture-first approach to people and performance. In this hands-on role, you will run day-to-day HR operations ensuring our cultural values are embedded in every stage of the team member lifecycle and experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the complete team member lifecycle, leveraging HRIS platforms to streamline onboarding, offboarding, and position changes.
- Serve as the first escalation point for team member relations inquiries and payroll matters, guiding cases from initial query to professional resolution.
- Drive performance management cycles, coaching leaders on effective feedback delivery and progressive disciplinary processes.
- Support team member experience and engagement initiatives, championing a culture of recognition, celebration, training, and continuous development.
- Lead and support Health and Safety administration and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations by overseeing WSIB claims, incident reporting, and JHSC participation.
- Identify process gaps, patterns, and execution breakdowns to drive continuous improvement in HR service delivery.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of HR experience, ideally within a manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environment.
- Post-secondary education in HR Management, Business, or a related field (CHRP/CHRL designation or track is an asset).
- Solid knowledge of Ontario ESA and OHSA, with practical experience managing WSIB claims and JHSC participation.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage HRIS platforms (experience with platforms like Ceridian Dayforce is a strong asset), and navigate basic payroll workflows.
- Solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive team member issues with confidentiality, empathy, and tact.
****Compensation: The anticipated base annual range for this role is $63,000-$73,000. Actual base annual range offered within this range may differ based on a range of factors, including individual experience, education, skills, and organizational needs. Pay: $63,000.00-$73,000.00 per year
