Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources / Health and Safety Manager to lead our organization's efforts in fostering a safe, compliant, and engaging workplace environment. Duties
- Serve as the primary contact for employee relations matters ensuring security of sensitive information.
- Ensure that all HR guidance is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to all employees while complying with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and employment standards.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment (job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offer preparation, etc.), onboarding, retention, offboarding.
- Investigate workplace complaints while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Monitor changes in legislation and recommend procedural updates as required.
- Provide strategic HR guidance to senior management.
- Develop effective HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain and manage all HR electronic and hard copy documents according to legislation and company procedures.
- Administer employee benefits program and group RRSP plan through respective providers and be the contact person for inquiries.
- Submit reporting to Stats Canada on a regular basis.
- Monitor monthly invoices from Indeed and LinkedIn and submit to A/P monthly.On the Health & Safety side, you will
- Be the point of contact for all H&S; related tasks, including upkeep of the H&S; manual, as well as handling policies as requested by ISNetworld (compliance management).
- Ensure all field and in office training pre-requisites are completed prior to site visits.
- Support OH&S; audits and inspections by providing required documentation promptly.
- Other tasks as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10-15 years of Human Resource experience.
- Experience managing employee relations issues and workplace investigations.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws, employment standards, and HR best practices.
- Knowledge and experience in Health and Safety legislation and requirements.
- Proven experience in human resources management within an operational or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, standards and best practices applicable to manufacturing facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective training programs focused on employee development & safety awareness.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse teams at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to analyze complex situations quickly and implement practical solutions efficiently.
- Relevant certifications in health & safety management or HR are highly desirable.
- Experience in training & development initiatives that enhance workforce skills and compliance.
