Role Description The Human Resources Operations Coordinator is the central logistical hub for our regional tour and transit workforce. Based on-site at our Gatineau office, this year-round role is responsible for the complex daily scheduling, compliance tracking, and HR management of our peak summer crew of 90–100 hourly employees.

You will be responsible for building and managing separate weekly rosters for a diverse group of hourly staff, including boat captains, commercial bus drivers, vessel operators, and tour guides . This role requires a fast-paced problem solver who can manage daily scheduling adjustments (such as last-minute sick calls), handle employee relations and misconduct, ensure transport compliance, and coordinate mass seasonal hiring.

Qualifications

- Complex Workforce Scheduling: Proven experience managing shift-based weekly rosters for a large, multi-role hourly workforce. Experience managing drivers, hospitality staff, or maritime crew is a massive asset.
- Bilingualism Required:



Fluent in both English and French (written and verbal) to support our diverse regional staff and manage operations seamlessly in both Ottawa and Gatineau. [1]
- Conflict Resolution & HR Generalist Skills: Strong backbone and professional empathy to document misconduct, enforce company policy, resolve conflict, and manage specific employee relations cases.
- Compliance Tracking: Detail-oriented enough to ensure all commercial drivers hold valid transit licenses (e.g., Class 2/C) and all captains hold up-to-date maritime safety certifications. [1]
- Fast-Paced Problem Solving: High capability to handle high-stress situations calmly, such as finding a replacement captain or driver on short notice during our peak summer tourist season.
- HR Operations: Experience tracking employee files, onboarding seasonal staff, and utilizing scheduling software or HR databases
- Knowledge of Employee Benefits administration or support, including communicating options and tracking eligibility.
- Strong organizational skills , attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
- Previous experience in HR, administration, or office coordination is preferred; relevant education or training in HR or business is an asset.
