- 12 shifts of 11.78 hours
- 1 shifts of 8 hours

Hours of Work: Extended Shift Hours (11.78)

Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 9 $21.380 to $22.890 (3 step range)

Travel Required: No

: Responsible for providing women, their partners and families with continuous emotional support, physical comfort and assistance in obtaining information before, during or just after childbirth. This may include very specific cultural practices that the birthing mother and/or couple wish to incorporate into their birthing experience. Act as a liaison to Elders,



Knowledge Keepers and Traditional Healers as desired by women and their families

- Indigenous Birth Support Worker certificate
- Grade 12Competencies
- Basic medical terminology
- Communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Basic - Computer skills
- Interpersonal skillsKnowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture
- Ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the history of Indigenous People in Canada
- Basic knowledge of physiology of birthOther Information
