Akamai Infrastructure Engineer/ CDN Engineer

Hands-on Akamai NetStorage and enterprise CDN configuration experience is required.

Candidates without hands-on Akamai configuration experience will not be considered.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Akamai Infrastructure Engineer / CDN Engineer with strong experience in Akamai NetStorage, CDN configuration, edge delivery, and enterprise web security.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Akamai technologies, including NetStorage, CDN configuration, edge delivery, web security, and traffic optimization. This role will work closely with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance delivery of digital banking applications and services.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on Akamai platform configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and production support within a mission-critical enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, manage, and support Akamai platform services across enterprise digital applications
- Implement and maintain Akamai NetStorage configurations, storage groups, upload accounts, and content delivery workflows
- Configure and optimize CDN caching behaviors, edge delivery policies, and origin routing
- Support Akamai Property Manager configurations and rule management
- Manage Akamai security products including:
- Kona Site Defender
- Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Bot Management
- Edge DNS
- Cloudlets
- Troubleshoot production incidents related to CDN delivery, caching, edge routing, SSL/TLS, and web traffic performance




- Collaborate with security teams to support DDoS mitigation and web application protection strategies
- Monitor Akamai traffic analytics, logs, and edge security alerts
- Support SSL certificate lifecycle management and secure web delivery
- Work closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, Network, and Application teams to support enterprise digital platforms
- Participate in production deployments, change management, and incident response activities
- Perform performance tuning and optimization for large-scale customer-facing applications
- Support automation and scripting initiatives related to Akamai configuration and infrastructure management

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, CDN engineering, DevOps, network engineering, or web security
- Hands-on experience with Akamai technologies in enterprise environments
- Solid experience with:
- Akamai NetStorage
- Akamai CDN configuration
- Property Manager
- Edge delivery
- Cache configuration
- Origin configuration
- Experience with Akamai security products such as:
- Kona Site Defender
- WAF
- Bot Manager
- Edge DNS
- Cloudlets
- Strong understanding of:

- Caching strategies




- Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting enterprise web delivery issues
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience within banking, financial services, telecom, or large enterprise environments
- Experience with Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Imperva, F5, or similar edge/security technologies
- Experience with:
- Linux administration
- Scripting (Python, Bash, Shell)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring tools (Splunk, Datadog, Nagios)
- Familiarity with OWASP security principles and DDoS mitigation strategies
- Experience with API delivery and web performance optimization
