Our client, a leading professional association, is seeking a Research & Insights Analyst to join their growing Research team. This newly created opportunity is ideal for an analytical and curious research professional who enjoys combining quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, and strong storytelling to turn complex information into clear, actionable insights.
This is a hands-on role focused on supporting research initiatives that inform organizational decision-making, member needs, industry trends, and thought leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and internal stakeholders to conduct research, analyze findings, develop reports and presentations, and help strengthen the organization's overall research capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support quantitative and qualitative research initiatives, including surveys, interviews, consultations, focus groups, benchmarking, environmental scans, literature reviews, and secondary research.
- Collect, clean, validate, analyze, and interpret data related to industry trends, member needs, organizational performance, and broader external developments.
- Identify meaningful patterns, trends, risks, needs, and opportunities within research findings.
- Translate complex research and data into transparent, actionable insights, reports, dashboards, briefing materials, presentations, and stakeholder-facing resources.
- Coordinate assigned research projects, including workplans, timelines, milestones, documentation, quality checks, and progress reporting.
- Respond to ad hoc research, analysis, and briefing requests from leadership and internal teams.
- Collaborate with internal departments,
subject matter experts, research partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather information and validate findings.
- Apply strong data quality, privacy, confidentiality, documentation, and ethical research practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve research processes, templates, data sources, tools, dashboards, reporting approaches, and insight products.
What They're Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or another research/analytics-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in research, data analysis, market research, business intelligence, program evaluation, or a related analytical function.
- Hands-on experience supporting surveys, interviews, focus groups, benchmarking, environmental scans, or similar quantitative and qualitative research activities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify meaningful findings, and translate research into practical insights.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly for different audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, research quality, and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple research projects, competing priorities,
deadlines, and ad hoc requests simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Non-Negotiables
- Demonstrated experience conducting or supporting both quantitative and qualitative research.
- Hands-on experience with research methodologies such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, benchmarking, environmental scans, or similar research activities.
- Strong data analysis and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to turn research findings into clear, audience-appropriate insights.
- Comfortable working with incomplete, inconsistent, or evolving data and clearly communicating limitations and assumptions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable working within a hybrid model in Toronto
Nice to Have
- Postgraduate certificate or specialized training in research analysis, market research, data analytics, statistics, or business intelligence.
- Experience with survey and research platforms such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Alchemer, or similar tools.
- Experience developing or supporting dashboards and data visualization using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience within a professional association, not-for-profit, industry association, or other member-based organization.
- Experience conducting member, customer, stakeholder, or industry research.
- Bilingual English/French.
