INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER
Design Living Ltd. is seeking a talented, organized, and client-focused Intermediate Interior Designer to join our Vancouver-based team.
We are a full-service interior design studio working on a range of residential and commercial projects. We are looking for a designer who combines creative and technical ability with excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to providing an exceptional client experience.
The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing to all stages of a project—from initial concepts and space planning through documentation, procurement, and construction—and can manage assigned responsibilities with professionalism and accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, millwork details, and presentation materials
- Prepare accurate drawing packages, including plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, details, and schedules
- Assist with or independently manage residential and commercial projects through various design and construction phases
- Research, source, specify, and coordinate finishes, fixtures, furnishings, lighting, and materials
- Communicate professionally and proactively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and team members
- Attend client meetings, site measurements, construction meetings, and site reviews
- Review shop drawings, samples, and submittals for general design conformity
- Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, specifications, and follow-up records
- Identify potential project issues early and communicate them clearly to the project lead
- Follow Design Living’s established systems, processes, drawing standards, and quality-control procedures
- Support the team in delivering projects on time and to a consistently high standard
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design from a recognized program
- Approximately 4–6 years of professional interior design experience
- Experience working on residential and/or commercial projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with SketchUp, Revit, Enscape, or other rendering software is an asset
- Strong knowledge of interior construction, materials, millwork, and detailing
- Familiarity with permit and construction drawing packages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Professional, collaborative, accountable, and receptive to feedback
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are preferred due to site visits
