Are you ready to work with a team to make a difference in children's lives? We are looking for folks who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring! Flexible shifts available during the week, Monday - Friday. Hours are 2:00pm - 6:00pm. Opportunity for longer hours during school breaks and early dismissal days.If the following sounds like a good day at work, then this job might be for you!Lead high quality program planning, incorporating the Y’s valuesMaintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standardsBuild healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleaguesActively interacts with children ages 5-12 as a play partner and homework helperSupport implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sportsParticipate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiativesWe’d love to hear from people with:Must be 19 years of age (as per provincial licensing standards)Minimum 20 hours of professional development relating to children’s health, nutrition, safety,
development and/or guidance (Responsible Adult Certificate)*Experience working with childrenValid class 4 operator’s license (is an asset)Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or CCommitment to Mission, Vision, and Values: Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC.Service Orientated: Deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to enhance each and every individual's YMCA experience.
