Job Title:Editor, Cancer InformationVacancies:1 current vacancyLocation:Vancouver, BC | Ottawa, ON | Calgary, AB | Halifax, NS | St John's, NL | Kelowna, BC | Prince George, BC | Montreal, QC | QuebecWork Model:Hybrid Work ModelSalary Band:5 ($64,000 - $72,000 CAD)Contract Duration:Full‑time contract opportunity from June 22, 2026 to July 02, 2027ResponsibilitiesEdit cancer-related information for clarity, comprehensibility and toneEdit and proofread online cancer informationEdit and proofread video scripts and descriptive transcriptsDevelop, edit or proofread print bookletsEnsure all content is clear, accurate, inclusive, and aligned with the CCS writing manual and plain‑language standardsDevelop and maintain cancer information standards and guidelinesApply and advise on grammar, tone, style, and in‑house CCS editorial standardsCollaborate with content writers and cross‑functional partners by providing clear comments, guidance, and rationale for editsEnsure consistent use of plain language, inclusive language, and accessibility best practicesContribute updates to editorial guidelines, templates, and content standardsStay current with evolving editorial, language and accessibility standards relevant to consumer health informationCollaborate with multiple teams to refine processes, deliver content and support special projectsEdit or proofread content for other departments as needed, such as social media posts, impact reports and statistics publications and infographicsMeet with the content team regularly to address content gaps and improve the editorial processesHelp expand the reach of CCS cancer information products and services by applying plain‑language standards, using inclusive language, etc.Support enterprise content initiatives, including governance or standards committeesOther duties as assignedContribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented,
