IT Launch Canada Lead Project Manager provides technical and project leadership for IT activities that support Product Launch projects at manufacturing facilities in Canada. This position is responsible for coordinating all IT activities for the Canadian Product Launch Programs, managing one or more Project Managers, and serving as the interface between IT and the Business.These projects and programs require a fully dedicated project manager due to the level of complexity, intricate detail, and accountability to senior leadership. Projects typically last 2 years or longer and involve a diverse set of stakeholders, vendor participation, complex schedules, and significant integration with other systems.This position leads status meetings with the project team, presents the project’s status to management and directors, implements consistent processes across project teams, and develops and maintains project documentation (schedule, log, meeting minutes, lessons learned). It also facilitates meetings with business partners to resolve complex problems and review project updates.The IT Launch Canada Lead Project Manager works independently while reporting to the North America Launch IT Manager. The role requires familiarity with standard project‑management concepts, budgeting, and finance and relies on judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Presence in plant is required, typically during integration and startup phases.Major DutiesManagement of supporting project managers for Canadian LaunchesProvide leadership and mentoring to project manager(s)
on their teamSet and track expectations for project‑management best practices during launches for their teamSupport risk mitigation and escalation of issues as neededSupport the Project Initialization and Planning processesPrepare IT budget for manufacturing launches based on high‑level scope requirements from the BusinessDevelop project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilityLead the request for RFQ/RFP/RFI project IT components as requiredManage ordering of IT hardware and software for launch supportAnalyze business processes and make recommendations for improvementsProvide Project Management support during the Implementation of Manufacturing Launches in North AmericaDevelop and maintain project document assets (schedules, risk logs, issue logs)Manage integration of mission‑critical plant applications for recent product deploymentsObtain expert knowledge of plant applications used by the local plant, assisting in troubleshooting system issues, managing configuration of applications, and network deployment and integrationCoordinate and deploy resources to critical path areas to ensure project deliverables are on timeMonitor and report IT systems implementation progress during launchesDistill complex issues for reporting to various levels of stakeholders and managementCommunicate effectively with skilled trades on the plant floor and with the Vice President owning the launchMaintain and distribute key project documents (schedules,
