If you are looking for a company that is constantly moving forward in pursuit of successful outcomes, get ready to love it here!Internal applications for this position within the ONA bargaining unit must be received within 7 days of being posted to have seniority considered in the selection process.What you’ll be doing:Provide care to patients recovering from a variety of addictions within a therapeutic milieu environmentAs a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will support the principles of the Addictions program through a group modelAssume Charge Nurse responsibilities as assigned, and direct the work of othersProvide nursing care on units across the Addiction Medicine Program as requiredContribute to fluctuating patient care needs according to CNO standards, RNAO Best Practice Guidelines,
specific program philosophy and diversified patient populationsAdminister psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatmentsEnsure necessary clinical assessments are initiated following admission and at various other timesEngage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members as appropriateAct as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as appropriateParticipate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferencesAccept changing work assignments across the Addiction Medicine Program as required and directed by supervisor and/or delegateWhat we’re looking for:Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the CNO, in good standingBScN preferredCPMHN (C) preferred2+ years of experience working with patients who have a broad range of addiction and psychiatric diagnoses preferred1 year in Charge Nurse role preferredWorking knowledge of the Mental Health Act, and community mental health resourcesBCLS Level C for Healthcare ProvidersProven ability to assume leadershipExperience with group facilitationSound clinical judgment based on current best practices, and patient centered careApplied understanding of the Stages of Change Model, Mental Status Exam, and Crisis managementKnowledge of CBT/DBT is an assetUnderstanding of the addicted patient population, treatment methodologies,
and medicationsAwareness and acknowledgement of the value of using measurement-based care when supporting patients/clients to help guide clinical decision making; experience an assetExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong inter-personal skills and respectful communication style with patients, families and staffThe starting rate of pay (Step 1) for this position is $39.07 hourly, in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
