Position: IT Program Manager III

Duration: 12-month assignment (contract)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced IT Program Manager III consultant to support complex technology initiatives within a leading Canadian financial services setting. The engagement involves leading the delivery of large-scale technology programs across multiple business and technology teams, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, stakeholder alignment, and successful execution of strategic modernization and infrastructure initiatives.

Services to be Provided

- Lead the delivery of complex technology programs involving platform modernization, infrastructure upgrades, and regulatory initiatives.
- Manage end-to-end program planning, execution, tracking, and reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Coordinate activities among business stakeholders, technology teams, risk and compliance partners, and third-party vendors.
- Establish and maintain project governance practices, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage program risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, timelines, and scope changes.
- Oversee vendor performance, statements of work (SOWs), contractual deliverables, and adherence to project commitments.
- Drive accountability, standardization, and disciplined execution across projects and teams.
- Support regulatory, audit-driven,



and large-scale migration initiatives while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implementation of delivery best practices.
- Leverage delivery tools and reporting solutions to enhance transparency and execution efficiency.

Expertise Required

- 8+ years of progressive experience in project and program management within large-scale technology environments.
- Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure, application, transformation, or modernization programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing external vendors, delivery partners, and contractual engagements.
- Strong experience managing project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Experience providing executive-level reporting and stakeholder communications.
- Familiarity with regulated environments involving risk, compliance, audit, and governance requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, business partners, engineering teams, and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, drive accountability, and align teams before commitments are made.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and structured delivery frameworks.




- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, project dashboards, and related delivery management tools.

Nice to Have

- Experience within Capital Markets environments.
- Knowledge of trading platforms supporting Equities, Fixed Income, or regulatory-driven systems.
- Understanding of platform modernization initiatives, including legacy technology upgrades and cloud adoption programs.
- Experience leading technology stack, infrastructure, or data migration initiatives.
- Experience supporting regulatory remediation or audit-driven programs.
- Exposure to AI-enabled tools supporting planning, reporting, requirements analysis, or project governance automation.
- Experience optimizing vendor engagement models, including fixed-price and time-and-materials contracts.
