Build Your IT Career with Revotech
Revotech Networks is a local managed IT company that has supported BC businesses since 2008. We are hiring an entry-level technician to support clients from our Port Coquitlam office and at locations across Metro Vancouver. This is a practical first or early IT role for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people and learning by doing.
Prior MSP employment is not required, and you do not need every product keyword. We will teach our tools and processes. You do need to communicate clearly, troubleshoot methodically, document accurately, follow approved procedures and ask for help before risk or delay increases.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Client Support and Ticketing
- Answer support requests by phone, email and portal; confirm impact and urgency; and begin work promptly.
- Resolve routine Windows, Microsoft 365, account, printer, peripheral, VPN and connectivity issues using documented procedures.
- Keep HaloPSA current with the user, asset, issue summary, exact errors, steps, outcome, time and next action.
- Provide clear client updates, validate the result and own the work through resolution or a proper handoff.
- Coordinate approved warranty claims, replacements and vendor support requests.
Onsite Service and Deployment
- Stage, enroll and deploy computers, monitors, docks, printers, phones and related equipment.
- Complete employee onboarding, account access, application setup, profile transitions and final handover checks.
- Attend client sites for troubleshooting, installations, equipment pickup or delivery, office moves, cable tracing and device labelling.
- Assist with switches, access points and cabling under an approved plan and appropriate technical direction.
- Maintain equipment flow, inventory records and readiness for scheduled onsite work.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
- Basic knowledge of Windows 10 and 11,
Microsoft 365, common hardware, printers and peripherals.
- Basic understanding of IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and account versus endpoint versus network issues.
- A methodical troubleshooting approach, clear communication and strong documentation habits.
- A valid BC driver licence, reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance for regular business travel.
- Ability to work the full onsite schedule and safely handle typical IT equipment up to 40 pounds, with accommodation where required.
- Authorization to work in Canada.
Helpful, Not Required
- An IT diploma, certificate path, practical labs, home lab, volunteer work or personal projects.
- Up to one year of helpdesk, desktop support, field service or customer support experience.
- Exposure to a PSA, ticketing platform, RMM or remote support tool.
- Familiarity with Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Autopilot or workstation deployment.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft fundamentals or comparable training, in progress or completed.
- Experience using documentation, search or approved AI-assisted tools while verifying the result.
HOW THE TEAM WORKS
- Move quickly without guessing: Collect facts, follow the known process and test deliberately.
- Own the work through handoff: Routing is not escalation. Keep responsibility until the issue is resolved or properly transferred.
- Keep the ticket current: Shared team collaboration helps,
but the ticket is the record another technician must be able to continue from.
- Escalate before risk increases: Ask for help when the issue reaches the Tier 1 boundary, uncertainty grows or business impact is increasing.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Complete routine work quickly, validate before closing, keep tickets current enough for another technician to continue, communicate clearly with clients, and escalate with useful evidence when the Tier 1 boundary is reached.
COMPENSATION & DEVELOPMENT
- $50,000 annual base salary.
- Extended health benefits and paid sick leave under company policy.
- Three weeks of annual vacation.
- Approved certification support and weekly coaching.
- Annual profit-share or bonus eligibility, subject to plan terms.
- Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel.
- A competency-based development path toward Tier 2.
TRAVEL & OCCASSIONAL AFTER HOURS
Regular client travel is part of the role. Occasional scheduled evening or weekend work may be required for client changes or business-critical incidents. Eligible additional time is handled under company policy and applicable British Columbia employment standards.
HOW TO APPLY
Please send your resume and a short note of four to six sentences describing a technical problem you solved or investigated. Explain what you checked, how you communicated and how you knew the result was correct. Applicants selected for interview will complete a short job-related scenario focused on service judgment and fundamentals, not product trivia.
Revotech is committed to a fair and accessible hiring process. Accommodation is available on request throughout recruitment. We encourage applicants with practical learning, solid customer service and a clear growth mindset even when their resume does not include prior MSP experience.
