Canada, Burckhardt Compression has a strong Services division in which we aim to provide one-stop reciprocating service for our customers. We are able to provide field service, repair and engineering/revamp services and spare parts for any brand of reciprocating compressor.

Burckhardt Compression (Canada) Inc. (BCCA) has an opening for a Journeyman Machinist, that will be directly reporting to the Machinist Team Lead, this position is based in Edmonton, AB.

Shifts

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Turn drawings into reality by planning, setting up, and machining precision parts like a pro.
- Operate a variety of manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and a horizontal boring mill.
- Clean, grind, polish, and machine compressor components until they’re shop‑floor perfect.
- Manufacture parts such as piston rings, packing case cups, bushings, and other small components.
- Machine parts to tight tolerances using conventional equipment (band saws, lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses—you name it).
- Assemble and disassemble components as required (because seeing the big picture matters).
- Measure twice (or three times) using micrometers, dial gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Help keep the shop safe and sharp by participating in near‑miss and incident reporting and following Quality and EOHS programs.

- You communicate clearly—whether it’s with teammates, supervisors, or documentation.

What You Bring to the Table

- Machinist trade certification (nice to have, not a deal breaker).
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience setting up and running manual lathes and milling machines.
- Experience in the Natural Gas industry or with reciprocating compressors is a definite bonus.
