To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add a Journeyman Welder to the Production team. This is an Day Shift Position from 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. This role will report to our Production Supervisor at our Portland St location, but will work out of our 7007 84 St SE location in Calgary Alberta.

As a Journeyman Welder,



you will be accountable for FCAW and GMAW welding of structural steel, aluminum, and/or stainless steel. Employee is responsible to perform the above mentioned, and any other tasks assigned to them in a protected manner and in accordance with our Health & Safety Policies, JHA’s & SWP’s. Employee is responsible to understand and follow all Company Policies and Rules.

Proven experience with welding using FCAW and GMAW, and plasma cutting Must be willing to work in other areas of our facility as required. Previous experience in manufacturing environment an asset Must be able work OT on weekdays and weekends when required. Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-Workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.

General understanding of engineering and sheet metal principles.

Experience using shears and press brakes will be considered an asset.

Overhead Crane

Operator certification Experience performing preventative maintenance on welding equipment. CWB Certification (Training & Testing in office) Please note there is no access to public transit at this location.
