Working in partnership with the Region of Waterloo and community partners, you will provide navigation support, advocacy, and outreach, with a solid focus on Indigenous, Black, and equity‑deserving families.ResponsibilitiesPartner with the Region of Waterloo to support Indigenous, Black, and equity‑deserving families through targeted community outreach, referrals, and relationship building with community organizations.Serve as one of the first points of contact for families seeking access to early years and child care programs, including licensed child care, OneList, child care subsidy, EarlyON Child and Family Centres, Special Needs Resourcing, and more.Use an empathetic, supportive, and culturally humble approach to assess family needs and co‑develop solutions and service plans, utilizing anti‑racist and trauma‑informed practices.Advocate for families facing personal or systemic barriers, ensuring equitable access to programs and services.Collect and analyze data on the early years, child care, and special needs systems to inform improvements and identify gaps.Collaborate with EarlyON Waterloo Region and other partners to coordinate services, strengthen cross‑sector partnerships, and promote equity in early years and child care.Provide support to the YMCA’s JAIDE initiatives,



contributing insights to senior leadership and participating in related workgroups.QualificationsRegistered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators, with knowledge of child development, emergent curriculum, and the Pedagogy for the Early Years.Experience working with diverse and under‑represented populations, including program development, group processes, conflict resolution, and community engagement focused on equity.Personal understanding of systemic racism, discrimination, and inequity, with lived experience as an Indigenous, racialized, or other under‑represented individual welcomed.Strong analytical, research, and continuous improvement skills, capable of developing evidence‑based practices and contributing to outcome‑based metrics.Excellent communication, facilitation, and partnership skills; able to build trust andengage professionals across systems.Fluency in English required; additional languages (e.G., Spanish, Tigrinya, Rohingya) considered an asset.Must be able to travel throughout the Waterloo Region, and have reliable transportation or a valid driver’s licence is strongly recommended.Additional InformationJob offers are contingent on completing a current Vulnerable Sector Check and employment reference checks.
