Role Description This is a remote, contract Land Agent role focused on supporting land acquisition and right-of-way activities for pipeline, utility, and infrastructure projects.
The Land
Agent will manage day-to-day tasks such as conducting land and title research, engaging with landowners, negotiating leases and easements, and preparing land-related agreements and documentation. The role includes coordinating survey access and permissions, tracking lease and right-of-way obligations, and maintaining accurate records for project teams.
The Land
Agent will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders,
including engineering, construction, legal, and regulatory groups, to resolve issues and keep projects progressing smoothly. The position requires consistent, professional communication with landowners and project partners while adhering to safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in land acquisition and land management, including working with land records, title information, and property rights.
- Proficiency in lease negotiations and leases, with the ability to secure fair agreements that align with regulatory and project requirements.
- Experience in lease administration, including tracking lease terms, obligations, renewals, and compliance-related documentation.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills for engaging landowners and stakeholders in a professional, respectful manner.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects, and maintain detailed, organized records and reports.
- Knowledge of pipeline, utility, or infrastructure project workflows and relevant regulatory frameworks is an asset.
- Familiarity with safety practices and willingness to follow company and industry safety standards and guidelines.
- Post-secondary education in land management, business, real estate, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
