We are growing and actively looking for people to work FULL TIME for both the residential and commercial sides of the business.

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Enhancement Crew Lead to oversee and participate in landscape enhancement projects at commercial properties. The successful candidate will have robust horticultural knowledge, the ability to read and work from landscape plans, experience operating landscape equipment, and the ability to safely and efficiently lead a small crew.

This is a hands-on position for someone who can take a project from a plan or scope of work through layout, installation, cleanup, and completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside a landscape enhancement crew.
- Review work orders, landscape plans, drawings, and project scopes before beginning work.
- Lay out planting beds and plant material according to plans and site conditions.
- Identify common trees, shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and groundcovers.
- Understand proper planting practices, including planting depth, spacing, soil preparation, staking, mulching, and watering.
- Complete landscape enhancement projects including: Tree and shrub planting, Perennial and ornamental grass planting, Garden bed creation and renovation, Soil installation and amendments, Mulch installation, Sod installation and repairs, Edging and river rock installation, Plant relocation and removals, General site cleanup, Minor grading and drainage improvements
- Safely operate landscape equipment and machinery such as skid steers, mini skid steers,compactors, sod cutters, tillers, power tools, and other small equipment.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload plant material, tools, equipment, and landscapematerials.




- Organize daily work and assign tasks to crew members.
- Ensure work is completed according to the approved scope, plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Monitor crew productivity and keep projects progressing within the allotted labour hours.
- Take before, during, and after photographs of projects when required.
- Identify site conditions or concerns that may affect the project and report them to the Enhancement Manager before proceeding.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Complete daily paperwork, time tracking, material tracking, and other required documentation.
- Communicate professionally with property managers, clients, site personnel, and company management when required.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and ensure crew members are working safely.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2–3 years of landscape construction, enhancement, horticulture, or related experience preferred.
- Previous crew lead or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of plant material and basic horticultural practices.
- Ability to identify common landscape plants used in Southern Ontario.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, planting plans, measurements, and site drawings.
- Experience laying out plant material according to plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of proper planting, soil preparation, mulching, sod installation, and garden bed preparation.




- Experience operating landscape machinery and power equipment.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Experience driving a pickup truck and trailer is preferred.
- Ability to safely back up, maneuver, and park a truck and landscape trailer.
- Ability to measure areas and calculate basic quantities for soil, mulch, sod, plant spacing and other landscape materials.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead, instruct, and motivate crew members.
- Ability to communicate clearly with management and crew members.
- Comfortable using a smartphone for work orders, photographs, email, maps, and time tracking.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision once a project has been reviewed.
- Physically capable of performing landscape work, including lifting, digging, planting, bending, and working outdoors for extended periods.
- Able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation to the company's designated starting location.
