Role Description The Large Format Print Production Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB, supporting the production of wide-format print and signage projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and loading print files, operating large format printers and finishing equipment, and assisting with cutting, mounting, laminating, and packaging materials. The role involves inspecting prints for accuracy and quality, troubleshooting minor production issues, and maintaining clean, organized workspaces and equipment.
The Production
Assistant collaborates with team members to meet deadlines, coordinates with customer service staff on job requirements, and may help with order intake and basic file checks. Occasional interaction with walk-in customers to answer questions or help with pickups may also be part of the role.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in production assistance and basic print production workflow, including handling materials and operating equipment safely.
- Experience with quality control, including reviewing prints for color accuracy, alignment, and finishing, and identifying issues before orders are completed.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, respond to inquiries, and support a positive client experience.
- Attention to detail in editing and checking job specifications, labels, and work orders to ensure accurate and complete output.
- Proven teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced setting, follow instructions, and support colleagues across departments.
- Comfort working on-site in a production environment, with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.
- Basic computer literacy; familiarity with print or design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software) is an asset.
- Previous experience in print, signage, or manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training may be provided.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized, with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
