Insurance Inspector – Level 2Reports To: VP of Loss PreventionJob Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: 65,600-98,400Position OverviewHTM Insurance is seeking an experienced and professional Inspector – Level 2 to join our Loss Prevention team. This role is responsible for conducting detailed inspections for residential, farm, and commercial properties, identifying risk exposures, and recommending improvements to help prevent future claims. The Inspector also acts as a key representative of HTM with policyholders, brokers, and industry partners.This position will be required to work in the central/Eastern region of OntarioKey ResponsibilitiesInspections & Risk AssessmentConduct inspections for current and existing business within required timelinesPerform detailed interior and exterior inspections of dwellings, outbuildings, farms, and commercial propertiesAssess roofing, electrical systems, plumbing, heating systems, and overall property conditionIdentify safety concerns and provide recommendations to reduce risk exposureComplete pre-inspections, rush inspections, and complex inspections across all lines of businessDocument findings using photographs, tablets, drones, and company technologyCommunicate major concerns to Underwriting and recommend action where appropriateReporting & DocumentationPrepare detailed inspection reports and building valuationsDocument deficiencies and required corrective actionsComplete MIRA reports and submit documentation to appropriate departmentsIdentify high-risk policyholders and provide recommendations regarding coverage eligibilityRelationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with brokers and policyholdersConduct regular broker visits and attend industry functions as requiredParticipate in Loss Prevention League meetings and industry networking opportunitiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives and share industry best practicesQualificationsRequiredCollege diploma in a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience as an insurance inspector in property, home, or farm insuranceStrong knowledge of:Building constructionFire preventionElectrical systemsBuilding codesRisk assessment practicesWETT CertificationStrong computer and reporting skillsValid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPreferredCIP courses in Liability and Building ConstructionCOHA Inspection CertificateElectrical training or certificationDrone licensing/certificationExperience within the Mutual insurance industrySkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and observational skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to manage multiple files and deadlinesProfessional relationship-building and customer service skillsConflict resolution and negotiation abilitiesWhy Join HTM Insurance?HTM Insurance offers a collaborative and supportive workplace where employees contribute to exceptional service for policyholders and business partners.
