Are you an experienced health-care professional with a background in clinical service delivery, quality improvement and evaluation? Island Health is seeking a Lead, Clinical Governance Secretariat to help strengthen quality governance and advance quality assurance and improvement across the organization.
In this strategic leadership role, you will work with operational leaders, practice advisors, governance bodies and other key partners to support Island Health’s Regional and Local Quality structures. Your work will help establish the processes, standards and infrastructure needed to turn Island Health’s quality strategy into meaningful action.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director or designate, you will provide leadership, support and coordination for quality assurance and quality improvement activities. You will:
- support the redevelopment and ongoing implementation of a regional quality strategy;
- provide leadership to Regional and Local Quality structures and help ensure alignment with their Terms of Reference and Island Health’s broader quality-governance framework;
- build strong partnerships with operational leaders, practice advisors, evaluators, advisory groups and other key stakeholders;
- develop and maintain Practice Networks and Advisory Groups that support the organization’s strategic quality priorities;
- establish processes, standards and infrastructure to support effective and sustainable quality governance;
- coordinate reporting across governance structures and advisory groups; and
- support the development, monitoring and reporting of meaningful quality metrics.
What You’ll Need to Apply
- Education, training and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in a related health field.
- Seven years of related experience,
including:
- two years of experience in quality improvement and evaluation; and
- three years of experience in clinical service delivery.
- A quality-improvement certificate or equivalent training in quality-improvement methods and tools.
- A valid BC driver’s licence.
You will also bring strong communication, relationship-building and facilitation skills, along with the ability to:
- work effectively within collaborative, interdisciplinary environments;
- facilitate creative, solution-focused approaches;
- manage competing deadlines and priorities;
- lead initiatives of varying size and complexity;
- apply critical thinking to achieve effective outcomes;
- model organizational values and principles; and
- use programs and platforms such as PowerPoint, Visio, Excel and SharePoint.
Position Details
- Location: Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Hours: 75 hours biweekly
- FTE:0
- Days off: Weekends and statutory holidays
- Salary: $46.55–$66.91 per hour
- Travel: Travel between Island Health sites may be required. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the position and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
