As a key member of our front-of-house team, you’ll lead the host team, manage reservations and seating, oversee guest flow, and ensure every guest receives exceptional service from the moment they arrive. Your enthusiasm, professionalism, and passion for hospitality will help set the tone for an outstanding experience.

This paid position is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional looking to develop their leadership skills in a dynamic, fast-paced bar and restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

- Greet every guest warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming first impression
- Lead, support, and motivate the host/hostess team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently
- Coordinate guest seating using POS and reservation systems
- Monitor guest flow and table availability to ensure smooth and timely seating
- Handle guest inquiries professionally by phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Communicate closely with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff to maintain smooth service
- Help manage busy periods, high-volume reservations, and unexpected guest situations calmly and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and guest waiting areas




- Assist with training and onboarding new host team members
- Lead by example and uphold Bar Origin’s standards for hospitality, professionalism, and guest service
- Help create an energetic and inviting atmosphere that reflects the Bar Origin experience

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, hosting, serving, or another hospitality role
- Restaurant, bar, or upscale hospitality experience is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service skills with a positive, personable attitude
- Confident leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support a team
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and skilled in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Familiarity with POS and reservation systems is a asset
- Knowledge of restaurant and bar operations is an asset
- Professional appearance and a genuine passion for hospitality
