Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Lead Shipper/Receiver to oversee the efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments within our warehouse operations. This pivotal role involves supervising shipping and receiving activities, managing inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities

- Pack, prepare, label, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Arrange pickups and deliveries with transportation companies.
- Assist with loading and preparing shipments for carrier pickup when required.
- Lead the day-to-day activities of the Shipping Department while actively participating in the work
- Assign work and establish priorities for the team based on daily shipping requirements.
- Lead by example by maintaining a robust work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
- Address performance or workplace issues with team members professionally and appropriately.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with transportation companies.
- Use previous experience and knowledge of carriers to select practical shipping options.
- Monitor the use of boxes, packing materials, labels, and other shipping supplies.
- Communicate effectively across departments using tools like Microsoft Office Suite (Word,



Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, and other ERP systems to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have:

- Previous experience in shipping, packing, logistics, transportation, warehousing, or a related environment.
- Experience with receiving, packing and shipping orders.
- Previous experience dealing with transportation companies, dispatchers, and carrier customer service representatives.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing approximately 35 to 40 pounds.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack, reach forklift safely.
- Computer literacy is an asset.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to lead a team while being an active member of that team.
- A practical understanding of cost control and fiscal responsibility.
- Reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
