Role Description The Legal Assistant Paralegal will provide day-to-day support to lawyers across multiple practice areas, ensuring efficient file management and client service.

Responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, organizing case files, coordinating schedules, and managing correspondence with clients, courts, and external parties. The role also involves conducting legal and factual research, reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness, and maintaining up-to-date records in firm systems. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Westmount, QC.

The Legal Assistant

Paralegal will collaborate with other team members to support hearings, transactions,



and ongoing client matters.

Qualifications

- Solid grounding in Law and familiarity with multiple practice areas (e.g., Litigation, Corporate/Commercial, Labour, Estate, Real Estate).
- Strong Legal Document Preparation skills, including drafting, formatting, and managing legal forms, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Proficient Research abilities, including legal, regulatory, and factual research using online databases and firm resources.
- Attention to detail in Document Review, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and missing information.
- Post-secondary education in paralegal studies, legal assistant training.
- Competence with office and legal software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Jurisconcept) and solid organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work collaboratively in a team, and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Experience in a law firm or legal environment and bilingual proficiency (English and French).
