What is the project?The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a recent deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve:A 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM); Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore); An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.What you will do?The QC Advisor is responsible for the management of on-site quality control and quality inspections. Reporting to the Quality Director, they will provide guidance to construction teams, establish organizational and control procedures while documenting non-conformities and their resolution.Concretely, your tasks will be:Participate in establishing, maintaining and improving the Quality Control Management on siteOrganize and participate in quality inspections in accordance with the scheduleControl, coordinate and monitor quality issues in cooperation with the relevant servicesEstablish organisational and control proceduresSupport the Quality Director in reviewing WMS and their ITPsEnsure compliance with plans, specifications, applicable codes, and jurisdictional requirementsAdhere to the project scope, schedule, inspection, testing,



and develop quality documentation while organizing and maintaining inspection and testing documentationProvide guidance to construction supervision and crafts regarding the project specific quality process and to ensure the requirements of the ITP are metReport and document non-conformance when they occur and assist in ensuring rework is trackedCoordinate with third party testing agencies and ensure that status logs are maintainedReview and approve all third-party test results for compliance with project requirementsIdentify safety hazards and take all necessary corrective actions to eliminate hazardsRespond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.E. different colored warning tags, warning).Ensure adherence to lockout/tag-out proceduresCoordinate system turnover activities with project teams and assist in assembling turnoverQualificationsA bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field15 years of experience in Quality Control on major projects in the GTAIn-depth knowledge of ISO standards and QHSE regulations applicable to large construction projectsHeightened ability to conduct inspections, tests, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standardsCapacity to monitor the implementation of QHSE proceduresProficiency in audits, scheduling, reporting, and closure of findingsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage stressful situationsFlexibility to quickly adapt to a variety of situationsPourquoi nous rejoindre ?Gross annual salary between 110K and 140K, depending on experience and profile4 vacation weeks & 3 emergency/sickness days paid; Annual bonuses;Group Health Insurance (premium participation including virtual health care system); Wellness spending account; Career developmentopportunities; A cosmopolite and inclusive work environment; Attractive andchallenging project.#J-18808-Ljbffr
