Role Description The Line Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at Café Landwer in Etobicoke, ON. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to company recipes and standards, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and portion control. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and maintaining station mise en place, operating kitchen equipment safely, and following food safety and sanitation guidelines.

The Line

Cook will coordinate with the kitchen team to manage ticket flow, support efficient service during peak periods,



and assist with inventory rotation and stock replenishment. The role also involves maintaining a clean, organized work area and collaborating with colleagues to create a positive, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to execute recipes, prepare ingredients, and cook a variety of dishes in a rapid-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
- Experience working as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar back-of-house restaurant role is an asset.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to stay organized under pressure.
- Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance, punctuality, and readiness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Comfort working on your feet for extended periods and lifting or carrying items typical of a kitchen environment.
- Interest in Mediterranean and Israeli-inspired cuisine and openness to learning Café Landwer’s menu and standards.
- Food Handler or equivalent certification is an advantage; prior experience in a café or casual dining setting is beneficial.
