Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Local Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team for night shift operations. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting freight within local routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties

- Operate Class 1 equipment for local CP/CN loads and LTL freight
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Handle touch freight and secure cargo properly prior to transport
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and shipment logs
- Perform light vehicle maintenance and basic repairs related to automotive issues
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Maintain accurate electronic logs using Samsara software




- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record (no demerit points)
- Minimum 2 years of Class 1 commercial driving experience
- Minimum 1 year of CP / Intermodal container experience
- Minimum 25 years of age (for insurance purposes).
- Hands-on warehouse experience and proficiency in operating a forklift
- Deep understanding of MTO/DOT hours of service, proper cargo securement, and pre-trip inspections
- Recent commercial driver abstract and clean criminal record check
- Strong attention to detail for documentation and safety checks
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to safety

Shift Timing & Schedule

- Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts starting between 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and ending between 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM
- Weekly Hours: Up to 60 hours per week
