The Lodge Chef will work a remote based lodge schedule that is based on 10 hour days on a 2 week on 1 week off schedule. All food and lodging will be provided while on shift.
The Lodge Chef is responsible for executing the Executive Chef standardized menu.
The Lodge Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in all food and beverage operations, including retrieval and storage of lodge provisions, overseeing the standardised breakfast menu, packed lunches, Après ski and nightly Dinner Service, in an open concept kitchen / dining area.
The Lodge Chef works under the Executive Chef but is the lead for the food program at their respective lodge as the Executive Chef is maintaining the standardized menu for all three Lodges. They will assist the Executive Chef in their responsibility for ensuring that NEH maintains and adheres to all regulations and all required licenses as issued by Northern Health and Occupational Health and Safety. They will be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and food storage areas, with the assistance of kitchen and lodge staff.
General responsibilities
- Working/communicating directly with the Executive Chef for the preparation and service of all food.
- Complete and delegate daily food prep list to kitchen staff.
- Awareness of all guest allergies, special requests,
dietary needs.
- Ordering and maintaining inventory at their respective lodge in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Complete/delegate daily & weekly cleaning schedules.
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen workspaces at all times.
- Cleaning and sanitizing dishes as required.
- Cleaning and closing of the kitchen with the assistance of kitchen staff.
- Responsible for kitchen recycle areas.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for all kitchen staff.

Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience working in the ski industry or lodge settings is an asset.
- Certification or applicable experience is essential for Chef positions
- Previous experience working independently in a kitchen is essential.
