Junior Engineer – Bridge (Edmonton)McElhanney is looking for an entry‑level bridge engineering role based in Edmonton, Alberta. The position is part of the Alberta Bridge Group and involves working on bridge culverts, standard bridges, major interchange and river crossings, including award‑winning projects such as the Stoney Trail Bridge Twinning.What You’ll DoAssist with bridge inspections, assessments, and data collection.Support the development of conceptual and structural designs for various bridge types and transportation structures.Conduct hydrotechnical analyses of watercourse crossings and corresponding drainage basins using approved Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) methodologies.Prepare design and contract cost estimates.Coordinate with sub‑consultants and stakeholders.Assist in preparing and securing approval of tender and contract documents.Support field reviews, construction submittals, and contract administration.Collaborate with team members to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.Assist in preparing record drawings and final documentation packages.What You’ll BringDegree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering from an accredited post‑secondary institution. A postgraduate M.Eng. or M.Sc. with structural specialization would be considered an asset.Registered or eligible to immediately register as an Engineer‑in‑Training (E.I.T.)
