Company DescriptionSENIOR FLEXONICS CANADA (flexonics.Com), a division of Senior Plc headquartered in Brampton, ON, manufactures and distributes engineered expansion joints, dampers, diverters, flexible hose assemblies and other systems that accommodate movement in piping systems. The primary market served is Nuclear Power Generation, with additional coverage of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial Processing, Pulp & Paper, and HVAC.Job DescriptionThe TIG Welder will prepare, tack weld, and weld sheet, pipe and plate into customer‑defined configurations. The TIG Welder will use weld jigs, assembly fixtures and blueprints meeting all customer requirements. Welding will be done on thin‑wall materials such as Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel and Monel. Material thicknesses are 0.012” – 0.380” and weld types are tube‑to‑pipe, sheet‑to‑pipe and pipe‑to‑pipe.ResponsibilitiesProduce acceptable welds per customer requirementsAssess welds to ensure they are clean, free of error and in accordance with customer specificationsMaintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel and MonelLay out, measure and align metal workpieces prior to weldingRead and interpret blueprintsResponsible for selecting and installing torch tips and filler rods according to the thickness of the materials and WPS (Weld Procedure Specification)Maintain clean work station following 5S + Safety requirementsOther reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictateUsing required PPE required for the departmentKey Skills & ExperienceMust be able to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organizationRequires English skills both verbally and writtenBasic math skills – add,
subtract and knowledge of the decimal systemBasic knowledge of computersMust be able to understand customer requirements and make determinations based on the specifications and blueprint instructionsSelf‑driven, quality focused, work in a team setting, capable of following instructionsGood hand‑eye coordination, responsible and accountable, adaptability and flexibilityAbility to function in a fast‑paced environmentQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of three years of TIG welding in the manufacturing or production environment.Proficient in TIG welding of thin wall materials, focusing on Stainless Steel.Experience with TIG Weld, filler rods, rotary tools and turn tables, regulating gas flow and pressure.Good working knowledge of all welding positions and instrument operation.Requires working knowledge of measuring tapes – how to read and accurately measure.RequirementsBe mechanically inclined and do all fitter/welder work.Able to read and interpret blueprints accurately.Ability to cut and fit.Minimum 3 years prior welding experience with TIG welding.Experience in thin gauge materials an asset.Fluency in English.Testing of skill levels will be conducted as part of the hiring process.Be able to work afternoons.Education: Some college / CEGEP / vocational or technical training preferable.Pipe fitting/welding experience required.Schedule & CompensationShift: Days – Monday to Friday 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM or Afternoon – Monday to Thursday 03:30 PM to 01:30 AM.Pay rate: CAD 31.16 to CAD 33.16 per hour.No of positions: 2.Senior Flexonics Canada is an equal opportunity employer.
