We are seeking a motivated and dependable Long Haul Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate large commercial trucks across long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from distribution centers to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshooting to address minor mechanical issues during trips
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details,
and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
- Proficiency in forklift operation for loading and unloading freight safely
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for transporting goods over long distances
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other machinery required for cargo management
- Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot mechanical issues during trips
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and documentation
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
