Southwell Medical Centre is well-established family medicine practice located in the southside of Edmonton. SMC is committed to provide patient-oriented, preventive and holistic care to all patients and their families.

Southwell Medical Centre is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at a Edmonton, AB facility.

This position is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in our facility. You will be assigned a group of patients and work with our nurse leadership team to ensure the overall success of the program. This is a full-time position and one casual position, Monday through Friday with selected weekends.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Recording a patient’s medical history accurately
- Taking and recording measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observing patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Administering injections or other forms of medical care
- Helping patients feel as comfortable as possible while undergoing treatments and during periods of stay




- Documenting patient care activities in a detailed manner in a patient log

Skills

- Proven experience as a LPN or
- With OIS/ WCB experience
- Strong understanding of medical care regulations and procedures
- Working knowledge of computer software (MS Office, medical software, EMR systems) tools used for documentation and patient tracking
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent interpersonal skills (friendly and helpful)
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certification from an accredited school of Nursing will be considered an asset
- Hindi/Punjabi speaking candidates is an asset
