Position: Mainframe Test Engineer – COBOL, JCL, DB2

Location: Toronto – Hybrid

Skills: Cobol , JCL, DB2, Mainframe , Test Automation using Selenium

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe applications.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Work extensively with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and Mainframe environments to validate application functionality and data.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Execute batch jobs using JCL and validate job outputs, datasets, and processing results.
- Write and execute DB2 SQL queries for backend/data validation.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium.




- Integrate automation into the overall QA and regression testing process.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects using standard defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, architects, and other QA team members to resolve issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis of test failures and production defects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support test execution across multiple environments and provide testing status and defect reports.
