Maintenance Supervisor

The Client's plants run continuously to serve critical industries—your leadership keeps kilns, hydrators, and process equipment safe, reliable, and efficient. This role matters because every hour of uptime protects people, the environment, and the communities we serve.

Performance Objectives

- Deliver ≥95% critical-equipment availability within 12 months by building and executing a preventive and predictive maintenance program for rotary/vertical kilns, hydrators, and material-handling systems.
- Cut unplanned downtime 20% year-over-year through root-cause analysis, reliability upgrades, and close coordination with Remote Operations and plant teams.
- Achieve zero recordable injuries on the maintenance team by coaching safe work practices, enforcing lockout/tagout and permit systems, and leading weekly safety engagements.
- Complete 90% of planned work on schedule while staying within the annual maintenance budget and optimizing spare-parts inventory via the CMMS.
- Raise first-time-fix rates and technician capability by mentoring millwrights, electricians, and contractors and implementing standard work and knowledge-sharing.
- Drive measurable process and environmental improvements by partnering with operations and engineering on management-of-change, instrumentation reliability, and emissions-related equipment.

Environment & Resources

You report to the Plant Manager and lead a crew of skilled tradespeople plus contractors. You will use JD Edwards (or equivalent CMMS), Microsoft 365, and established company's reliability and safety standards.



Travel is occasional for training or support of sister plants. The role is plant-based in a 24/7 process workplace that values long-term thinking and teamwork.

Essential Qualifications

- 5+ years industrial maintenance experience in mining, lime, cement, or similar continuous-process plants, including 2+ years supervising trades.
- Proven record of improving equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime through structured PM/PdM and RCA.
- Demonstrated leadership of safety culture (LOTO, confined space, working at heights) with measurable incident reduction.
- Ability to read P&IDs;, interpret PLC/HMI trends, and coordinate with instrumentation and remote-operations teams.
- Strong communication skills to align operations, engineering, and contractors; bilingual French/English an asset depending on site.
- Trade certification or equivalent technical education plus computer literacy (CMMS, Excel).
