Role SummaryThe Mechanical Engineering Technologist position who will support the Engineering Manager and engineering team in activities such as mechanical design and drafting, product development, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and engineering documentation.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in product development and manufacturing activitiesParticipate in design reviews by providing information and insight to designers and engineersDesign 3D mechanical assemblies and fixtures using SolidworksEstablish supply chains and purchasing of various raw materials, components and processesGenerate 2D mechanical drawings and engineering documentsAnalyze manufacturability, costing and lead times of electro-mechanical systemsWork together with the Engineering team, cross functional teams (Service, Manufacturing, Production) as well as suppliers to meet customer deliverablesDevelop assembly procedures and other manufacturing documentation as requiredPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsCollege Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 2 years of applicable work experienceStrong experience with 3D CAD software, preferably in SolidWorksAbility to read and follow mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics and bills of materials,



including good knowledge of GD&TAbility to troubleshoot and adapt to on-going changes to suit the needs of the team and/or customersKnowledge of different manufacturing processes: CNC Machining, Sheet metal Fabrication, Injection Molding, etc.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Outlook, Word and ExcelFluent communication skills in EnglishExperience in mechanical designs related to medical devices / products would be an assetKnowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 would be an assetExperience with SolidWorks PDM would be an assetAttributesAbility to work independently as well as within a teamAttention to details and multi-taskingAbility to plan and execute quality assurance tasks within set deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-pace workplace and work under pressureAbility to troubleshoot and adapt to on-going changes to suit the needs of the team and/or customersExcellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral)Excellent organization and time management skillsInterest in biomedical or health-related industrySalary RangeCAD$55,000 - $65,000 annually.#J-18808-Ljbffr
