We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About the role:

The Manager, Commercial Funding leads the day-to-day operations of the Commercial Funding team, ensuring commercial mortgage funding transactions are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with legal, regulatory, AML, and internal policy requirements. This role is accountable for team performance, operational quality, risk management, and the successful execution of funding activities while supporting service delivery objectives.

The Manager provides leadership and direction to a team of funding professionals, drives continuous process improvement, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, manage operational risks, and maintain a strong control environment across commercial funding operations.

About the day-to-day:

Daily Operations Leadership

- Lead and oversee daily commercial funding operations to ensure transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established service standards.
- Manage workflow allocation, staffing capacity, operational priorities, and funding commitments to support fluctuating business volumes.
- Monitor funding pipelines and proactively address issues that may impact execution timelines or service delivery.

Quality Assurance, Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, AML, operational, and internal policy requirements.
- Monitor transaction quality, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to strengthen controls and improve performance.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness, compliance, and operational excellence within the team.

Operational Monitoring & Escalation Management

- Review operational reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators to identify service concerns, transaction exceptions, funding delays, and emerging risks.
- Assess impacts and coordinate resolution activities across stakeholders.
- Escalate significant operational, compliance, or risk-related matters to senior leadership as appropriate.

People Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Senior Funding Administrators and Funding Administrators.
- Conduct performance management activities, provide ongoing feedback, and support employee career development.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and customer-focused team environment.
- Support recruitment, onboarding,



workforce planning, and succession planning activities.

Process Improvement & Documentation

- Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures, controls documentation, job aids, and operational guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and enhance client and stakeholder experiences.
- Lead or participate in projects and initiatives supporting funding operations and business transformation objectives.

Complex Transaction Review & Problem Solving

- Provide guidance on complex funding transactions, documentation deficiencies, security requirements, funding exceptions, and operational challenges.
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing risks and determining appropriate resolutions.
- Partner with leadership and subject matter experts to resolve escalated matters efficiently.

Stakeholder Partnership & Collaboration

- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Credit, Treasury, Legal, Sales, Servicing, Portfolio Management, Business Transformation, and external stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and operational enhancements that improve end-to-end funding processes.
- Act as a key escalation point and trusted advisor for commercial funding-related matters.

About the qualifications:

- Minimum 7 years of commercial real estate lending or commercial mortgage operations experience.
- Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending documentation, funding processes, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial mortgage funding operations and transaction workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume operational environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and lead operational change initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality,



compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Bilingual (English/French) candidates are preferred; bilingualism is a strong asset.

About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Compensation:

The expected salary for this role is approximately $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
