Health Shared Services is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join HR Shared Services (HRSS) as the Manager, HR & LOA Administration. Reporting to the Director, Employee Services, this key management role provides leadership and oversight for the HR Administration, Position Management, and Leave of Absence teams responsible for delivering employee lifecycle transactions across Alberta's provincial health organizations. As a member of the Employee Services leadership team, you will provide both strategic and operational direction for HR administration, position management and leave of absence services that support employees and leaders across the provincial health system.
The Manager is accountable for ensuring HR and LOA transactions are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational policies, employment legislation, and collective agreements. This role leads the implementation of employment and collective agreement changes, drives process and service improvements, and contributes to the strategic objectives of HR Shared Services while fostering a high-performing team culture focused on service excellence, continuous improvement, and operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline is required. A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership in an organization of significant size and complexity. Demonstrated proficiency with PeopleSoft. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to assess performance and provide ongoing development.
Experience in a unionized setting is necessary.
Experience participating in a large HR system implementation is needed. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Required key competencies: strong verbal and written communication skills; client-focused orientation and commitment to service excellence; sound judgement, problem-solving ability and independent decision-making; effective relationship building and collaborative skills across diverse teams; and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in the healthcare sector HR and LOA administration is preferred. Experience in project management, business process improvement, and/or quality assurance is an asset. Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft HR and Benefits Modules preferred.
