You’ll work in a supportive environment that values collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning.Role Summary:As a part of our Maintenance Department, the Experienced Apprentice Mechanic or Licensed Truck Mechanic (310T) is responsible for daily and preventative maintenance and completes the required repairs on our company-owned trucks and trailers. The chosen candidate will provide quality customer service to our drivers, is safety focused and is a Licensed Truck Mechanic (310T)
or Experienced Apprentice Mechanic looking to work in a fleet maintenance environment.Hours of Work:Consistent Schedule, Friday- Sunday from 6:00am-6:00pm (1 hour lunch - paid)Work Arrangement:On-sitePosition Type:Non-UnionEmployment Status:PermanentCompensation:Hourly Rate: $22.60- $37.98, depending on license and experienceShift Premium:$2.00/ hour for working weekend shift, Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (after 1 year of service)Work Location & Environment:1497 Wilton Grove Rd, London, ON N6N 1M3, Work Environment – Maintenance ShopKey Accountabilities:Preventative and scheduled repairs:Review and follow work order instructions from start to finishOutline all parts used and input comments into the work order (complaint, cause and correction) regarding the repairInspect entire vehicle and road test to ensure repairs are completeTest systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to isolate faultsNotify shift Team Leader of any other needed repairsIdentify any warranty repairs and complete necessary paperworkPerform Ministry of Transportation vehicle inspections as per Ministry guidelinesShunting and moving equipment in and out of maintenance facility and other destinations for repairsShop cleanup:Put away any equipment used, including personal toolsShop cleanliness,
emptying garbage cans at end of shift, washing floors and sweepingAttend shift meetings as requiredParticipate in formal and informal training sessionsPerform other maintenance duties as requiredQualifications:Provincial Ontario 310T Certification of Qualification (Truck), or interprovincial designation from another provinceRegistered 310T with Ontario College of Trades (OCOT)2-5 years of prior work experience as a technician an assetPossess a valid G-class driver’s license is requiredMust have suitable tools or willingness to purchase prior to hireKnowledgeable with air brakes, electrical diagnostics and 5th wheel rebuildingUnderstand emission controls, including DPFs, DEF, EGR systems and Detroit one-box systemsExperience with Bendix and Meritor systems; OEM Freightliner,Volvoand/or Paccar experience is an assetExperience replacing clutches and engine diagnostics with integrated powertrain experience is an assetSkills and Attributes:Able to use current technology to ensure vehicle safety and performanceDetail oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environmentMechanically inclinedInterested in the transportation industrySafety mindedStrong customer focusProactive attitude and takes initiative to prevent issuesWell-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team memberAn opportunity to contribute to the company by continually making improvements and resolving issuesGood verbal and written communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skillsWillingness to learn new skills#J-18808-Ljbffr
