Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands The Manager of Operations is responsible for leading the administration, support, and ongoing operation of the Province Wide Radio System, the primary communications network for first responders and provincial, federal, and municipal partners across the province. Reporting on operational performance and service delivery, the successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, and technical oversight to the Provincial Radio Communications Office, while managing staff, equipment, and other resources required to support the system's efficient operation. Working closely with the province's managed service provider, the Manager will ensure the reliability, availability, security, and continuous improvement of the radio system to meet the needs of more than 6,000 users.

Key responsibilities include management and implementation of technical programs supporting the Province Wide Radio System, including radio programming, encryption management, equipment deployment and installation, technical support and troubleshooting, network incident management, system upgrades, coverage enhancement initiatives, and technology modernization projects. The position also provides operational oversight of the Multi Agency Communications Centre and leads the research, development, and implementation of communications and dispatch-related technology. The Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of these programs to meet evolving operational and public safety requirements.





This highly skilled, technical position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in supporting public safety communications and ensuring the delivery of an essential service relied upon by communities throughout the province.

Screening Criteria

1. Completion of a Degree in Business or related technical field (equivalencies will be considered)
2. Experience working with dispatch centres
3. Experience working with public safety communication technology
4. Experience supervising and leading staff

1. Recent and satisfactory Criminal Record Screening Certificate from local police
2. Proof of Class 5 Driver’s license
3. This is a permanent, full time position. The successful candidate will be appointed to the role on the condition that they successfully obtain a satisfactory RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
