POSITION POSTING: #3464; SERVICE AREA: Supported Living; LOCATION: Kerry’s Place Central Region – Brampton; VACANCY TYPE: Existing Vacancy; AGE GROUP SUPPORTED: Adults over 18 years old; POSITION STATUS: Temporary Full-Time (Contract ending June 2027; Two weeks’ written notice prior to contract end); HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week (Days/Evenings/Weekends/Holidays/Rotational Schedule; Flexibility required asper Collective Agreement). and recreational contacts.Lead and coach other employees to continuously improve service quality and work environment.Ensure person‑centered planning is effectively implemented and individual goals are realized timely.Provide appropriate supports for health and safety, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and abuse prevention policies.Implement behaviour support plans and skill‑building strategies as directed by clinical staff, observing and supervising clinical support strategies with appropriate methods and frequency.Identify when professional support is required and enlist such support; document and report incidents and serious occurrences immediately.Support and coach in social skills, communication, vocation, daily living skills, and leisure activities.Lead in identifying and achieving personal outcomes as defined by each person.Ensure people supported by Kerry’s Place have the knowledge and ability to exercise their rights.Maintain a clean and safe work area, reporting any safety concerns immediately; document and report accidents, injuries, and near misses immediately.Use Kerry’s Place resources cost‑effectively and efficiently.Ensure accuracy and timely completion of documentation required by legislation, policies, and procedures (personal files, health records, development plans, data collection).Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, natural supports, volunteers, professionals, community members, and other stakeholders.Attend and participate in meetings as directed by manager or coordinator (e.G., team meetings, family meetings).Administer medication according to Kerry’s Place policy and procedure; understand each medication’s purpose, expected effects, and monitor for side effects.Where required,



oversee the individual’s finances and provide expenditure documentation to the manager.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience QualificationsCompletion of a Developmental Services Worker Diploma, a Human Services Diploma/Degree, or a Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized community college, university, or a registered Ministry‑approved private career college.OR completion of Ontario Secondary School (or equivalent) and 5 years of related experience (preferably supporting people with Autism).Knowledge RequirementsSolid understanding of Autism and its unique support requirements.Knowledge of person‑centered planning and personal outcomes.Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with supported persons, families, and team members; robust interpersonal skills and team collaboration.Familiarity with applicable legislation and regulations.Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, internet) and ability to navigate internal systems.Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and sound judgment in accessing situations quickly.Self‑motivation and ability to motivate others.French language is an asset.Working Conditions / Physical RequirementsMust be able to physically support adults with Autism.Must be able to perform the required physical techniques of NVCI training from the Crisis Prevention Institute (training provided).Position requires flexible working hours and ability to travel as required.A valid driver’s license (minimum G2) and reliable vehicle with third‑party liability insurance coverage required.Must provide a driver’s abstract in good standing with fewer than three demerit points.Kerry’s Place is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity and welcomes applications from all qualified persons.
