Position SummaryApprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.Employees are expected to support and participate in a culture of safety and adhere to Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values.Project DetailsSite is at the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant north of Conklin, AB8/6 rotation$300/shift travel allowanceCamp accommodations providedCore AccountabilitiesRead and interpret red‑line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on siteAssemble piping and valves in module and compressor packagesPrepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and riggingHydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facilityMeasure, cut,
and thread pipe to the required shapeInstall supports, valves, piping, and control systemsRemove and replace worn components and reactivate systemsQualificationsEducation: Must be a registered 4th year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.Training: Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets – CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO will not be accepted.Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities: Must be able to pass pre‑employment drug & alcohol testing; able to lift 50 pounds; comfortable working outdoors.Strike Group is an Equal Chance Employer.
