We specialize in heavy civil, industrial, marine, and deep foundation construction, delivering complex projects across British Columbia.Recognized by Business in Vancouver as one of BC’s largest specialty contractors, our group of companies includes Brymark Installations Group, Corwest Fabrications, Vancouver Pile Driving, and Aligned Industrial Services.The OpportunityCarlson Construction Group is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor / Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to support one of our major local project sites in North Vancouver.This is an excellent opportunity to play a hands‑on role in maintaining and strengthening our safety culture while contributing to a high‑profile project in a fast‑paced construction environment.This is a project‑based, fixed‑term position, operating on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.About the RoleAs a Construction Safety Officer, you will be a key member of the on‑site project team, responsible for monitoring compliance, leading safety initiatives, supporting workers and subcontractors, and ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are met.Your work will directly protect our people and support the successful execution of a complex and dynamic construction project.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and managesafety records, incident data, and compliance trackingReview safety documentation for accuracy and provide coaching and feedbackSupport safety planning for new work scopes and deliver worker orientationsLeadtoolbox talks, safety meetings,
and training sessionsMonitor employee and subcontractor safety compliance and enforce regulations as requiredConductsite inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigationsKeep management informed of safety issues that may impact project operationsPromote and uphold safe working conditions across the siteProactively engage in hazard identification andrisk‑reduction strategiesQualifications & RequirementsWe’re looking for a safety professional who brings:Minimum 5 years of field safety experience, preferably in industrial or heavy constructionStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence safe work practicesPost‑secondary education in a related fieldExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with a results‑driven mindsetWillingness to work shifts and travel outside the Lower Mainland as requiredSkills, Abilities & AttributesPreferred safety designation such asCRSP, RCSO, CHSC, CSS, CIH, or ROHOccupational First Aid Level 3(or willingness to obtain)Experience withBCCSA COR programs and auditingHigh personal, skilled, and ethical standardsStrong analytical thinking, judgment, and initiativeProven relationship‑building and problem‑solving skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesCommitment to learning and continuous professional developmentWhat We OfferCompetitive pay rate:$55–$65 per hourCareer growth and advancement opportunitiesExposure to complex and unique construction projectsOngoing training, mentorship, and professional developmentA company culture that valuessafety, integrity, collaboration, and excellenceAccommodation RequestsIf you require accommodation during the application process, please
