Canadian consulting firm
Winnipeg
You will be joining a well-established Canadian consulting firm with a long track record in Building Envelope and Structural Engineering. With offices already running in Eastern Canada and here in Calgary, the firm has grown into a 70+ person team and is now pushing for serious growth coast to coast. The Calgary office is already up and running with a solid team and a strong book of work, but it's ready for the next chapter. That's where you come in.Your New RoleThis is a senior role taking the lead of the Calgary office. There's already a team of around 5 in place doing great work in building science, roofing, and facility condition reporting, and the office is on track to do $1 million in sales this year off the back of a couple of key clients. What's missing is a leader who can take the reins, diversify the client base and grow the office to its full potential. Your time will be split roughly 50/50 between business development and project delivery, so you'll be out winning new work and in the trenches helping deliver it. Longer term, the vision is to expand the service offering to include capital planning and replicate what's been built in other markets. You'll be managing recent construction and building renewal projects from start to finish, looking after existing client relationships, hiring and mentoring your team, attending industry events and working with the Leadership team on the firm's broader growth strategy.
You're not walking into a turnaround. You're walking into a strong team that just needs a leader to help them go to the next level. What You'll Need to SucceedYou'll have 15+ years of experience in building science or structural engineering, ideally with a P.Eng. designation (multiple provinces is a strong asset). The firm is open to either background as Calgary already has design support in place. What matters more is that you're entrepreneurial, comfortable with BD and genuinely enjoy leading and developing people. You should have a network in the Alberta market, the confidence to diversify a client base, and the kind of presence that brings a team along with you. If you'd rather bring an existing team with you, or even have a firm in mind that could be acquired, that's a conversation worth having. What You'll Get in ReturnCompensation is up to $190,000 base, with a 30% bonus structure (the firm has paid out as high as 50% in the past, so strong performance is genuinely rewarded). You'll get 4 weeks of vacation, personal days and RSP matching between 3 and 5%. After 18 months, there's a real conversation to be had about equity. This is a long-term play for the right person, and they want you on the cap table if you're building something that lasts. You'll also have a seat at the senior leadership table as the firm continues its coast-to-coast growth.#J-18808-Ljbffr
