Project Manager – a technical leader with experience in wind, solar, storage, EV, decarbonisation, mid‑stream, and thermal technologies, or in project financing for M&A services. This role will be based at a DNV office in Toronto, Montreal, or Calgary, with a hybrid schedule that typically includes three days per week on site. What You’ll Do Lead overall project management and stakeholder communication as the key point of contact for successful delivery of due diligence engagements. Leverage expertise to deliver customer‑centric technical analysis for energy and infrastructure projects. Typical scopes include: Review key project contracts (interconnection, revenue, construction, operations & maintenance) Validate technical inputs in project financial models (construction & operating costs) Review project designs and technologies Conduct operational evaluations including site inspections and interviews, and review operating history and asset management approach Perform industry benchmarking and development‑stage project screening studies Prioritize QHSE considerations to ensure protected execution and a healthy work environment. Coordinate technical reviews among internal specialists (civil, electrical, energy assessment, technology, transmission, permitting,
and other DNV disciplines). Perform portions of due diligence, including contract and financial model review, and other technical analysis. Resolve technical issues in partnership with transaction stakeholders, coordinating input from internal specialists. Lead the reporting process: write, edit, and synthesize inputs into technical due diligence reports. Engage with customers to understand needs, develop winning proposals, and tailor sequencing of work to meet budget and timeline requirements. Support customers through financial closings of projects. Participate in continuous improvement efforts for the M&A team (tool development, process refinement, training, lessons learned). Adhere to the DNV system for quality management, liaising with QHSE leadership on procedures, instructions, guidelines, and checklists. Compensation and Benefits Salary range for Vancouver and Toronto: $110,000 – $160,000 (variable based on location, tenure, and role). Availability of travel, some in‑office requirement. Knowledge of the energy project lifecycle, including project contracts (EPC, procurement, interconnection, PPA), technology and design, energy production assessments, financial modeling, and common technical risks. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to ~15% of the time. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
