Responsibilities include completion and/or audit of all expense reimbursements and invoices, and reconciliation of FIS accounts, timesheet collection and verification for casuals and work-study for payroll processing, monthly Statement of Accounts, P‑Card statements, ensuring compliance with University ’s financial guidelines and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the analysis and creation of financial reports used in long‑term and short‑term strategic planning, budgeting, modelling and forecasting for the Departments. The incumbent works closely with the Business Officer to ensure business transactions are aligned with generally accepted accounting principles, University financial and purchasing guidelines, and funding rules. The incumbent is also responsible for asset management for the department, including purchasing, inventory, records and maintenance and space coordination.Your responsibilities will include:Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks.Applying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies and procedures from granting agency and regulatory bodies.Preparing expense reimbursements and journal entries.Preparing accounts payable / account receivable according to the University Guide to Financial Management.Checking that proper approvals are obtained prior to processing transactions.Monitoring, recording, reconciling and/or reporting on funding accounts for grants and contracts.Recording detailed transactions for departments operating and research accounts.Generating standard financial reports regularly and reconciling them with actual backup documents.Essential Qualifications:Advanced College Diploma (3 years)



in a related field (e.G. accounting, finance) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum three years related experience in accounting/finance/analysis.Experience in related administrative support required.High level of knowledge with FIS, HRIS and RIS preferred, or equivalent information systems is essential.Must have an aptitude for numbers, be analytical and have strong problem‑solving abilities.Strong communication skills (both oral and written).Highly developed computer skills in Excel, Word, email and internet.Ability to prioritize and complete many competing demands in order to meet strict deadlines with keen attention to detail.Must be highly service‑oriented and possess strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well in a team setting.Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and diplomacy when dealing with staff, faculty and students.Applicants are also expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.Assets (Nonessential):Experience working in a post‑secondary or public sector environment is preferred.Knowledge of the University’s Guide to Financial Management is an asset.To be successful in this role you will be:CooperativeEfficientMeticulousMulti‑taskerOrganizedTeam playerNote:This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto's Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.Closing Date:05/22/2026, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group:USWAppointment Type:Budget - ContinuingSchedule:Full‑TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 10 -- $72,119. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $92,226.
