Description The UCalgary Continuing Education is currently seeking a Full time Limited Term Marketing and Engagement Specialist for approximately 1 year.

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Engagement Specialist works within a highly collaborative marketing environment supporting Continuing Education's diverse portfolio of programs, services and initiatives.

Continuing Education is seeking an energetic, digitally focused and customer-oriented marketing professional who is passionate about connecting prospective and current learners with transformative educational opportunities.

The position operates in a fast-paced environment characterized by competing priorities, evolving marketing technologies, changing audience behaviours and multiple concurrent projects. The incumbent will work closely with Program Managers, Student Services, instructors, university partners, vendors and external partners to support marketing objectives that contribute to awareness, engagement and enrolment growth.

Continuing Education functions within a revenue-generating environment where timely, effective marketing activities directly influence learner acquisition, registration performance and program sustainability. As a result, the role requires a high degree of initiative, adaptability, organization and sound judgement when managing priorities, responding to stakeholder needs and supporting projects with competing deadlines.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Support the planning, implementation and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.

- Execute audience-focused marketing initiatives that support awareness, lead generation, learner acquisition, conversion and retention objectives.

- Develop and coordinate campaign schedules, deliverables and promotional activities.

- Assist with audience segmentation, targeting and campaign deployment activities.

- Support marketing automation initiatives including audience lists, nurture campaigns, testing and workflow execution.

- Create and adapt campaign content for email marketing, web pages, landing pages, digital advertising and social media.

- Monitor campaign performance and audience engagement metrics and recommend opportunities for improvement.

- Conduct audience research, competitive reviews and environmental scans to support campaign planning.

- Contribute to learner acquisition and engagement strategies aligned with enrolment and revenue objectives.

- Support learner acquisition, conversion and retention initiatives.

- Support the planning, promotion, coordination and delivery of Continuing Education events and engagement initiatives.

- Develop audience engagement plans designed to increase participation, attendance and learner interaction.

- Coordinate event-related marketing and promotional activities across digital and direct communication channels.

- Support event registration campaigns, promotional schedules and audience follow-up activities.

- Assist with learner engagement initiatives designed to strengthen relationships with prospective and current learners.

- Coordinate event marketing materials, promotional assets and engagement content.

- Support digital experience improvements that enhance audience engagement and learner conversion.

- Create,



maintain and update content across websites, email marketing platforms and digital channels.

- Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, documentation and workflow activities.

Qualifications / Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business or related field.

- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, campaign execution, audience engagement or related fields.

- Demonstrated experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels.

- Experience with lead generation or customer acquisition initiatives.

- Demonstrated experience supporting the planning, promotion, coordination or delivery of events, engagement initiatives or customer-facing experiences.

- Experience developing and executing event-related marketing and audience-engagement activities across digital and direct communication channels.

- Practical ability to coordinate multiple event deliverables, timelines, stakeholders and promotional activities simultaneously.

- Strong ability to analyze campaign, event and engagement performance data and recommend actions based on findings.

- Proven understanding of audience engagement principles, customer journeys and marketing best practices.

- Experience using marketing technologies, email marketing systems, content management systems and digital marketing platforms.

- Experience with marketing automation, audience segmentation and campaign deployment activities.

- Demonstrated experience in email marketing, SEO, web content development, social media, paid advertising, campaign optimization and digital engagement.

- Experience creating audience-focused marketing content that supports campaign and engagement objectives.

- Solid project management, organizational and prioritization skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

- Strong relationship management and customer service skills.

- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

- Strong ability to learn and apply new technologies, including AI-enabled marketing tools and workflow solutions.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.

- High level of professionalism, tact, diplomacy and sound judgement.

- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability and commitment to continuous learning.

Assets

- Experience working in post-secondary education, continuing education or lifelong-learning environments.

- Experience using platforms and tools such as: Zoom, Canva, Capcut, Microsoft Copilot, Adobe Creative Cloud, Dialog Insight, Drupal, Asana or similar applications.

- Knowledge of adult learner recruitment, engagement and retention strategies.

- Knowledge of accessibility standards, user-experience principles and digital-content best practices.

- Professional marketing, digital marketing or communications certifications.
