OverviewThe Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is a non‑profit agency that has been providing quality supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and complex needs in Fort St. John and District since 1960. The FSJACL is an accredited agency with a trained, caring, and trusted professional team of over 90 employees who deliver quality services and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and complex needs. The FSJACL works collaboratively with community partners to achieve its vision of inclusion for all.ResponsibilitiesPersonal hygiene, assist individuals with activities of daily living such as feeding, lifting and transferring, grooming, and toileting.Assist individuals to function more independently in their home and in the community.Assist with daily life skills, social skills and/or behaviour management.Teach and assist individuals with activities such as cooking, money management, shopping, and household safety.Create opportunities for community inclusion events, activities and advocacy.Medication administration.Access the community to attend events, appointments, or other activities.This is an excellent career choice for people who enjoy interacting with others, appreciate variety in their daily work, and want to make a difference in the lives of others. The ideal support worker is caring, supportive, and helps individuals feel independent and involved in their community. Support workers are expected to work in both housing programs and community‑based programs,



with levels of care varying based on the program.We are looking for specific attributes and a candidate with the right personality. Training is provided.This is a casual position, meaning shifts are scheduled based on availability, seniority, and call‑ins, and union (BCGEU) membership is required of all successful applicants.
