This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, disciplined close processes, and robust balance sheet control, including indirect tax and credit card oversight.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classificationPrepare journal entries (accruals, provisions, reclasses, intercompany)Ensure all transactions comply with ASPEDrive the month-end close process with tight timelinesEnsure completeness of entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and credit card transactionsIdentify and resolve close issues proactivelyContinuously improve close efficiencyOwn all balance sheet reconciliations, including:Credit card clearing accountsIndirect tax accounts (HST/VAT receivable and payable)Accruals and prepaymentsEnsure reconciliations are complete, accurate, and fully supportedInvestigate and resolve aged or unreconciled itemsReconcile corporate credit card statements to expense reports and GL postingsEnsure timely and accurate recording of expensesMonitor and clear credit card suspense/clearing accountsReview employee expenses for policy compliance and proper documentationInvestigate missing receipts, duplicate charges, and unauthorized transactionsCalculate and review HST/VAT on sales and purchases to ensure accurate applicationEnsure correct tax coding in ERP systemsPrepare and reconcile HST/VAT returns,
